Troubadour Interactive got its start in 1995 with the publication of Fateful Lightning: A Narrative History of the Civil War, initially released on CD-ROM and later licensed for distribution with a popular computer game. Two more titles, Quest for Empire: The Napoleonic Wars and Born in Battle: The American Revolution, were produced over the course of the next several years. All three programs were very well-received by reviewers, academics and the general public.
       Now available as an online resource, Fateful Lightning is joined by a work of historical fiction: Grindstone, by Donna Walsh Inglehart. Based on accounts of a little-known Civil War spy ring operating in Canada, this haunting and suspenseful novel about an Irish immigrant girl and a Southern conspirator provides fresh insight into the defining moment of American history.
